If a window doesn’t serve the purpose of being a window, is it still one?  What defines something, its form or its function?  This is an empty building facing the river in downtown Lisbon, windows and doors are often walled in like this to prevent squatters.

  1. What you wrote came to my mind the second I set eyes on this image. Sad but true… Very good image with deeper meaning than just the windows and also a nice frame created by the straight lines around the windows.

  2. I believe it to be a window still, a window is more than a hole in a wall. You see it as a blocked hole, not as a hole to be opened. There is time an history to a building’s live to. This is from my point of view.
