Toys - Nuno Correia

What have you found?!

I looked at the dog, he looked to me, I looked at Pedro’s 35mm lens, and off we go! Here you can see the result of the use of wider apertures (lower f-stops), you can find an excellent article where you can find what I mean. (CheapShooter.com)

Up on a Tree

What this monkey suffered in my hands! :D Before I got this one, I spent half an hour throwing him into the air to catch a falling monkey, but it looked weird :p so I gave it a rest and got this one, maybe he was felling a little sick after those little flights. :)

Beauty in the Sun

Barbie is used to it, great model, cooperative… ahahaha. On this one I got the help of my daughter, she held a paper on the left side of the doll to reflect the sun light coming from the right, breaking the shadows on Barbie’s face.

Buuuuuuu!!!

This one gave me more work. Needed low light conditions to add a spooky effect, so I had to use the tripod, for the light I used a led flashlight bouncing off a sheet of paper glued to the tripod. Again, wide aperture to get the blurry effect. ;)

The most difficult task for me this week was choosing the toys, they’re so many!!!! :p I’ve planned to build a lightbox for this week’s shoot, but I came across this fantastic work, it was very inspirational.

  1. Congrats on another assignment completed! My comments follow:

    1. Very nice shot. I love how you include your children as backgrounds to make for a different and creative picture!

    2. Poor monkey is resting after an afternoon flying around. Good work!

    3. love the sided framing! Whatever makes it stand out from the crowd I appreciate! Lovely!

    4. I understand the idea but I think it is too dark…. and the fact that one of the guys is completely blurred…

    Great work!
