Toys - Joao Rechena
beach toys
This one was taken with my old Canon Digital IXUS300 with a old 8MB compact flash… Used nothing else than sun light and Katy to hold the kids while I took this photo

For this one I’ve used my flashes one with a red gel pointing to a white wall on the back of the car, and the other pure white pointing to the white ceiling. Used PS to sharpen and border. Love the colors.

Used the same table from the previous photo, but with only one flash pointing to a wall on the right, I was standing on the top of the table to get this one.

One flash with blue gel pointing back to the white wall and another flash with a red gel pointing to the ceiling. The shallow DOF was on purpose, where it the great 50mm when we need it…

glass of barbie ?
Tried to re-create the classic playboy image of the girl on the glass filled with champagne, failed on several points :P, no champagne, no real girls, etc etc… Used the same flashes of the previous photo, one red and another blue gel, but this time I’ve pointed them to each other, therefore the blue and red effect on the back. I has not very pleased with the light on the barbie’s face, but, liked the overall effect.

For this week’s assignment I had to improvise since I’m on vacations, and I don’t have my home made light box… Liked the final results, and the assignment was accomplished. Job well done :). Once again thank you Katy for the excellent help.

Congrats on another assignment completed! My comments follow:
1. Nice mixture of toys, nothing to declare
2. Excellent shot! Great tones and great use of light! I just love it! Just awesome!
3. Nice idea, although I find the shadows a little distracting…
4. Nice shot but I don’t know it doesn’t feel quite right.
5. Nice and creative! i would try to get a plain background instead of the textured wall but I like the shot and the creativity put into it.
great work!
