Blue Rubber Ducky

Shot inside the do-it-yourself soft box, I eliminated all outside light source. The duck is lit by a flash on a stand from above, with a blue-gelled secondary flash fired into the side of the soft box.

Something a bit more whimsical - one flash is fired into the computer screen so as to reflect into Ernie’s face and a second flash lights the front of the computer.

Miniature Horse

I decided to play with size and aperture for my last shot. Shot at f/2.8 with a Canon 200mm L lens. The long lens and low aperture create a shallow depth-of-field effect.

Thanks so much for letting me participate, Nuno! I really enjoyed the challenge. If you’d like to keep me updated, I’d love to keep posting your challenge each week on Cheapshooter. Eventually when more people join the Flickr group, I think it could be a lot of fun.

  1. Welcome to this project! Here are my comments to your shots:

    1. I like the shot and the blue tones. I like the softness of the whole and the sharpness on the duck. But I would try to get rid of the dust in the top of the shot. Great picture though.

    2. Very creative Dan, I love it!

    3. Very good shot and very sharp! Since I am a focus freak I would try to get the whole horse in focus by using a smaller aperture and getting only the far background blurred. But great shot nonetheless!
