She likes photography, specially taking pictures. Having her picture taken it’s another deal, she gets tired too fast… as any other children! :)

In this one i’ve played with dodge and burn tools in photoshop.

I’ve planned some photos, didn’t take any. So, in a kind of last resort took the self portrait way. Took the occasion to try burn and dodge tools on photoshop.

  1. My comments:

    1. A nice interpretation of the human body. The shot is good except for the lack in sharpness. Its tough I know, but that’s the one thing that could get better.

    2. Same thing: good interpretation, I like the colored background, but lacks in sharpness… maybe its a lens’ limitation?

    3. Very good shot! I like it and the only thing missing would be a more glowing eye to make the colored eye stand out…. PS can do that :-)

    4. Very good shot! But I would have put it in last week’s category of Portraits instead, eheh. it’s sharp, the model has expression, is looking at the camera and the angle of view speaks personality all the way.

    5. This one I don’t like so much and it would fit better on the portraits assignment too. The model looks scared (eheh), the focus on the eyes is too short and the framing is missing part of the face… it would work better centered, with more depth of field and with a slightly different look :-)

  2. Ok, my 2 cents :)
I agree with mca on the first one it is great, to bad about the lack of sharpness. I like the ideia and the faces of the brothers.
On the second one the only problem is the model hehe. kidding. I like the composition, and you managed to get the hand focused, what did you used for the background ?.
On the third one, PS ? b&w over color ? Love those effects.
The last two I agree with mca also, they where great on last weeks assignment, and as I said before you rule on the portrait field.

  3. The background in my second photo is my fireplace.
On the third one you start with duplicating your photo into a new layer, then on the upper layer turn the photo b&w (i used the channel mixer for that, but the easy way is using the desaturate option), then you use the eraser tool or the selection tool and the part of the upper layer which you want to give color, and that’s it!
My last two photos I agree that they fit like a charm in past week assignment, but it’s still human… well at least my daughter is.
They are portraits… yes they are… they fit in this week assignment… yes they do… i’ve planned this way… no, i don’t… things i can improved on this particular portraits… well, on the last photo i could be nude, would fit way better on this week assignment (thanks Pedro for the tip), on my daughters photo i would like to use a wider lens, that photo was taken at 28mm, but the crop factor of my 400d transformed it on a 44.8mm, still i liked the effect.
On the sharpness issue, i’m trying to improve that. ;)
