For this photo of K, I’ve used two remote flashes, triggered by ebay triggers, one on the left using a blue gel and another with a snoot on the right to make the “light face effect”.

For this one K was on our house stairs with a snooted flash on the top of the stairs pointing to her face and another flash on the bottom stairs with a red gel to illuminate the background.

Eva wanted to take a photo also, so I’ve tried the clamshell effect but didn’t liked the final result. Then I’ve placed the flash with an umbrella on top right of the photo an a flash pointing to the white wall on her back with a red gel.

As said before is very hard to get Diogo to stand still, K suffered a little to cut is hair yesterday, also is sick, which complicates even more. Eva was holding the left flash pointing back with a green gel. The other flash was on a stand with a umbrella on the top right.

The all strobist ideia is to shoot with off camera flashes. So with this in mind, I believe that I’ve achieved the assignment. There are countless ideias for shooting with off camera flashes. Take a look at flickr searching for “strobist” tag. Ok, on to the next assignment.
Props to Katy, Eva and Diogo for the patience to deal with my “madness” ;)

One Response to “Strobist - Joao Rechena”

  1. My comments:

    1. Very creative and well done;

    2. My favorite from this set: great use of light and color and good pose on the model’s side;

    3. Nice shot but I don’t like the excessive red on the left side…

    4. Nice shot but can’t see where the strobes are.. :-)

    nice work João!
