Shadow - Joao Rechena
Zi tree
This one was taken while walking at Parque Eduardo VII in the quest for “Estufa Fria”. Worked in PS to convert to b&w and a little sharpen, also played a little with the levels.

Scare Crow
This is a “scare crow” that we have on our front door, it was taken against the living room curtain. Used the silhouette technique. PS for the levels and some sharpening.

Just a walk on the park
This one was actually the last to take, but I made it number 3. Taken when returning from the cofee. It was taken by katy, and I liked it very much. Great work Katy. PS for the levels, also the camera was set to tungsten mode on the White Balance.

Cavalary is coming
Also taken in the walk in Parque Eduardo VII. A couple off GNR (National Republican Guard), by horse where passing by and I liked the shadow effect of the horses. Diogo managed to “pat” one of the horses later.
Ps to convert to b&w and sharpening.

Le Tour
While driving to Lisbon, trafic police made us pull over since someone was coming, I quickly got out of the car and managed to get this shot. PS to sharpen.

As usual this week I had some ideas that didn’t come out as I wanted. But overall it was a very good assignment.
Once again thank you katy for the patience and help.

Congrats on another mission accomplished! My comments follow:
1. A very nice shot. I like the detailed shadow, the white sidewalk and I think it looks good on B&W.
2. A nice shot but I think it fits the silluete theme better than the shadow. As I understand there is no shadow seen in the shot…. or is there?
3. Very nice this one… Well framed and everything spells out mood in the picture: the empty street, the father and son, the sandals and even the reddish tone…. are you in the Red Light district???
4. Very nice shadows, very sharp and good contrast. Well done!
5. My favorite…. first because the shadow is clear and if you had seen only the shadow you would immediately know what it was… second because I think it works well in color. I would be tempted to convert it to B&W but after seeing the result I think it looks just perfect as it is.
Good work! Keep it up!
