Reflections - Nuno Correia

Playing Around

A lucky shot. They were running around, as usual, so I only had to shoot. There’s a little reflection on the bottom ;) . I’ve converted to b&w for more “drama” and impact. Channel mixer was the way to do it in Photoshop :D

Salir by Night

2007_32_nc_02.jpg

This is Salir do Porto reflection over the São Martinho Bay (near Alcobaça). Used a long exposure to smooth out the reflection on the water and used ISO 100 for more detail. Maybe you’re all wondering if I caught an UFO on the left side of the photo… nope, it’s a light on the top of a boat mast! ;) The waves movement on the bay provided this effect.

Generations

My to female loves taking a stroll along the beach and watching the sunset. I’ve pushed the contrast and the levels of this one to enhance the reflection. As usual, converted to b&w using channel mixer. :D

Simply, Clara

This is Clara, my six year old daughter. The reflection on the waves was so strong, causing an heavy back light. There was so much contrast, leading you to think “oh, it’s another b&w”, but you’re wrong, the color it’s all there, the sun hitting the waves done that! ;)

I’ve to stop planning ahead my photos, at the end I’ll improvise, anyway, I thought this week assignment was easy, but I was wrong. My last photo of the batch was taken Sunday night, I shouldn’t make this an habit.

One Response to “Reflections - Nuno Correia”

  1. Congrats on another assignment completed! My comments follow:

    1. Excellent shot! I love the reflection, the sense of movement in the children and the straight and focused background in the waves. Very good!

    2. It seems like a good idea but i think the framing is not so good… too much clear sky, too much water in the bottom and an UFO in the sky? i would try holding the camera sideways and zooming in in order to look for a better frame.

    3. I love this shot! very nice indeed. How about trying to zoom in a bit and cut the real bodies in half, making the reflections stand out a bit more? It might work well I think.

    4. A very good shot but I would put it in the silhouette category instead..

    Great work!
