Reality in Black and White - Nuno Correia
Waning Moon
The moon cast a spell on me… I had to take the shot!
I’ve shot the moon on other occasions, but this is the best one I’ve got. Mirror lock up, ISO 100, 300mm, 1/40s, f9.0, tripod, remote trigger, these are the ingredients to achieve similar results.

This photo with color has a greater effect, but in b&w it enhances the little veins.

My sis-in-law’s cat, D’Artagnan is his name, and he is new in the house, so he is discovering his new world.

My Love
It seems to me, this is my best portrait. Got to love the expression on her eyes. Thank you!

Complicity
Same photo session, I managed to capture the complicity between us.

This week turned out a more difficult assignment, the theme it’s so vast! I used the channel mixer of photoshop to convert my photos to b&w, there are other ways, but I think that we’ve got more control on the conversion this way. My wife helped me again, and the proof of that is one of most beautiful portraits that I’ve taken in my life, thank you my love! ![]()

A little late but here are my comments:
1. The perfect moon! That’s all there is to say about this shot
2. A great shot! Very creative and very nice detail captured. The only think I would try is to get everything in sharp focus, maybe with a smaller aperture.
3. Very nice work! Good use of depth of field and light to draw the eyes’ attention to the expression on the cat’s face.
4. Very good portrait. I think it could benefit from showing a little more hair at the top, even if not all. Otherwise very good.
5. I like this one better, although the hair got in the way covering the face and part of the mouth. A shot to try again without the hair in the way!
Great work!
