Going Up!

Overexposure was the goal, I wanted to blend the white petals with the sky. Pushed up a little the contrast with Photoshop for a better blending.

Kiss from a Rose

This rose was alone in the middle of the garden, the well and delicate  defined lines caught my attention.

Almost Satin

2007_26_nc_02.jpg

This one is not from my neighbors garden, this rose was in a center of the dinner table at a wedding that I’ve attended. It’s kind of blurry even with bad focus, but beside that its a very tight crop in Photoshop leading to the use of blurriness to disguise the noise in the photo, resulting in this satin look ;)

In macro photography the detail is the most important thing, Just look at the center of the flower and be amazed! :)

Flowers… they’re begging for great macro shots. Didn’t go like I was expecting, well, as I’ve planned ;) , but my neighbors garden came to the rescue! :D

  1. Great job once again! My comments:

    1. I would say it is way overexposed but since the goal was to blend the petals with the white sky, that makes it ok. The idea is very good but i would try to get more sharpness and contrast on the foot of the flower.

    2. Great shot! I love this one… did you try different appertures (smaller f) to try to get more depth of field in the flower?

    3. Very nice shot, except when it’s at 100% zoom. I know I know it was a pushed up crop…. must try again this one with a full frame shot so that you don’t loose all that detail. But great shot!

    4. I think this is what detail is all about. Even lighting, great sharpness and great detail. This is it my friend!

  2. Once, again a great work.
The first one the objective was accomplished, since the petals really blend with the sky.
I love the blurred effect on the background and the colors of the second one.
The third one is, for me, the one that you’ve could tried make it sharpen giving it the “follow the lines” look. The last one without a doubt is my favorite, the detail is just perfect.

    Great work my friend.
