Fashion Photography - Pedro Moura Pinheiro
Fashion #1
Canon EOS 5D + Canon EF 35mm f/2
Canon MR-14EX + Canon 430EX + Canon 420EX
1/200 of a second - f/2 - ISO 100
My wife Gabriela, leaning forward to create a hair cocoon. The MR-14EX at this close distance provides a very good fill light, and the 420EX from the right with a snoot plus the 430EX from the left frame the hair perfectly.

Tried a different approach with this more enigmatic crop. The lighting setup is the same, just a different take.

I associate fashion photography with the display of absolute perfection. My wife is beautiful, but there are no human beings that can stand up to the scrutiny of a sharp Canon prime lens at close quarters
. I used Photoshop primarily for three things - to reduce skin texture (I used Noise Ninja) and to remove some small blemishes, and to “redo” the reflection of the MR-14EX in her eyes, as the two half moons are a bit distracting. I didn’t play with the proportions.

Great job here, both from the photographer and the model!
My comments:
1. A great shot, well lit, great dramatic expression on the model and great eyes too! A pity that one can’t see detail in the hair which is something I like. Oh and did I mention the beautiful eyes?
2. I don’t like the half faced portrait so much, although the shot is well taken, well lit and very nice eye!
